The "Australia Day" Event Achieves Complete Success

The “Australia Day” event was grandly held by the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program Office, ECUST School of Business, in the lecture hall of Yifu building at ECUST on June 15th. This event, with the theme of “innovation and entrepreneurship”, introduces the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program through keynote speeches and salons. The event was attended by Ms. Xu Peiyi, consul of the Australian Consulate General Shanghai - Commercial Section, Prof. Wu Baijun, dean of ECUST School of Business, Prof. Jiao Jiajun, director of ECUST International Affairs Office, Prof. Simon Hoy from the University of Canberra (UC), Prof. Yu Yu, former consul of the Australian Consulate General Shanghai, and the staff of the ECUST Professional Master’s Programs Office. This event was presided over by Ms. Dong Haiyi, director of the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program Office.

During his speech, Prof. Wu Baijun, dean of School of Business, analyzed the role played by Chinese business schools in the country’s rapid economic development. He stated that the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program, as a high-quality program certificated by the Ministry of Education, will keep improving its schooling quality and cultivate management elites with an international vision to society.

Prof. Jiao Jiajun, director of ECUST International Affairs Office, introduced the international exchanges of ECUST and the development of the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program.

Ms. Xu Peiyi, consul of the Australian Consulate General Shanghai - Commercial Section, said that nowadays there were more and more cooperation and exchanges in the educational industry between China and Australia. She hoped that the UC-ECUST Joint MBA Program, as a tie of education between China and Australia, would get better and better and cultivate more international talents.

Prof. Simon Hoy introduced the development situations of the University of Canberra in the aspects of faculty, research, student sources, facilities, student activities, student employment, international students, etc.

Later, Prof. Yu Yu, former consul of the Australian Consulate General Shanghai, gave a wonderful lecture entitled “Business Improves Relationship–Investment and Entrepreneurship in Australia”.

 

Entrepreneurs sharing experience of business starting with guests

During the salon on the theme of “Are you ready for starting business?”, three entrepreneurs, Zhou Yang, Zhu Jingwen and Wei Kang, talked about the hardships in the growth of their enterprises.

The “Australia Day” event has strengthened the communication between UC and ECUST, enhanced the public’s knowledge of the program, and played a positive role in pushing forward the sustained development of the program.
