21 February 2019: The University of Canberra has climbed to No. 41 in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia-Pacific University Rankings, published today.

Last year the University placed at 64, after its inaugural position at number 81 in the top 100 of the Asia-Pacific universities list in 2017.

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Deep Saini said that he was extremely happy with the University's swift ascent of the rankings.

“In just two years, UC has climbed 40 places on the list,” Professor Saini said.

“It's a wonderful achievement for UC, reflecting its place as one of the best young universities in the world.”

The THE Asia-Pacific University Rankings are calculated on the basis of five areas: teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.

“This latest positioning reflects our strong performance in all these areas, our focus on maintaining a high quality of research and continually growing our research sphere and capabilities.

“We have significantly strengthened our industry and international collaborations, and UC’s academics are consistently delivering innovative solutions to real-world problems.

“Our graduate outcomes are an undeniable testament to our teachers, researchers and academics, and all that we are doing at UC.”

The University of Canberra also ranks number one in the ACT for full-time employment and starting salaries, according to The Good Universities Guide 2019.
